WIKA NG KALIKASAN: ISANG DESKRIPTIBONG PAGSUSURI SA SALIN NG MGA PASKIL UKOL SA ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING SA LUNGSOD NG PASIG (BARANGAY ROSARIO)

Ang pananaliksik na ito ay isang deskriptibong at kwalitatibong pagsusuri sa kalidad, estratehiya, at semantikong bisa ng mga isinaling paskil (signages at posters) ukol sa environmental planning sa Barangay Rosario, Lungsod ng Pasig. Gamit ang Teoryang Skopos ni Hans Vermeer at ang konsepto ng Dinamikong Katumbas (Dynamic Equivalence) ni Eugene Nida bilang teoretikal na gabay, sinuri sa pag-aaral ang mga pampublikong anunsyo tungkol sa solid waste management, zoning restrictions, at disaster risk reduction. Nilayon nitong matukoy kung nagagawa ng mga kasalukuyang salin ang kanilang layunin (skopos)—ang magbigay ng impormasyon at magpakilos sa komunidad. Ang mga datos ay tinipon sa pamamagitan ng photographic documentation ng labinlimang (15) paskil sa mga pangunahing kalsada, palengke, at tabing-ilog ng Barangay Rosario, na sinundan ng malalim na tekstwal at pragmatikong pagsusuri gamit ang linguistic matrix. Naisulat sa mga natuklasan na 65% ng mga nakapaskil na anunsyo ay labis na umaasa sa literal na pagtutumbas (word-for-word translation) at hilaw na panghihiram (Taglish) ng mga teknikal na termino gaya ng “liquid waste,” “segregation,” at “community service.” Bagaman tumpak ang mga legal na pagtukoy sa mga ordinansa ng lungsod, ang kawalan ng kultural na konteksto at pragmatikong pag-angkop sa wika ng masa ay lumilikha ng semantikong agwat. Sa kabilang banda, ang mga paskil na gumamit ng lokalisasyon at emosyon (gaya ng “Huwag maging pasaway sa kalikasan”) ay nakitaan ng mas mataas na potensyal na makapukaw ng mamamayan. Pinagtibay ng pag-aaral na ang kakulangan sa pragmatiko at kultural na konteksto sa pagsasalin ay nagiging hadlang sa ganap na kooperasyon ng mga residente sa mga patakarang pangkapaligiran. Inirerekomenda ang pagbuo ng isang localized na glosaryo at ang pagtatag ng Translation Committee sa antas ng LGU upang matiyak na ang mga environmental signage ay hindi lamang tumpak sa batas, kundi madaling maunawaan at may kagyat na epekto sa kilos ng komunidad.
